A warm, sweet, mouth melting Christmas saffron bun richer than gold. It takes 150k flowers of Crocus Sativus to make 1 kg of saffron which makes it more expensive than gold per gram.
It was originally called Lusse-cat is named after the devil Lucifer. In the 1600's ppl believed that the devil showed up in a shape as a cat. Lucifer is said to be afraid of the light so they baked catlike buns in a bright colour to keep the devil away.
